Need help in planning Kashmir tour in August end

I've been following this forum for quite few days. Thanks for all information shared by members.

I'm planning trip to Kashmir during 24th Aug to 1st Sep with my wife.Based on my online search I've learnt that there would not be heavy rains by Aug end and hope to have nice trip. I'll be taking flight for travel from Mumbai and thus will have 9 days/8 nights for enjoying Kashmir. Of these 8 nights , I plan to stay at Srinagar for 5 nights and remaining 3 nights in Pahalgam. In Pahalgam, I would want to cover aru valley, chandanwari, Betab valley. Can I over all these places in three days? Is there any other place that I should cover? At Pahalgam I plan to book JKTDC 1 BHK hut. Is it a good option? Considering that it is off season , should I directly book hotel after reaching there (so that I can negotiate the rates) or it makes sense to book in advance? Heard that aru valley is very nice place. Are any accommodation options available there?

Plan to stay at Srinagar for rest of period and do one day trip for Gulmarg and Sonamarg respectively (Not planning to stay at either of these places assuming that good accommodation options are not available at these places. Do let me know if it is otherwise, in which case I can change my plans accordingly. Also let me know if one day at each of these places does justice to these places.

At Srinagar , I plan to stay at houseboat. Looking at customer feedbacks planning for Chicago/ambassador/Prince of Vale in that order. Please suggest which one is better. Also considering off season, I' planning to book houseboat after reaching there. Is that OK, considering that i will be going with my wife?

For entire trip I will need to have a vehicle. Is it possible to get a small car for trip? I would not unnecessarily want to hire SUV for two persons. Could you pls help with contact details for small car option?

Any other other suggestions are most welcome. Thanks....

24Aug : After arrival at Srinagar airport ,transfer to Houseboat. Cruise on Dal Lake / Local sight seeing.

25Aug : Excursion trip to Sonamarg/short trek on to Thajwas Glacier and back to Srinagar

26Aug : Trip to Gulmarg. Gondola ride . Back to Srinagar.

27Aug : Mughal gardens/Cheshma Shahi/Shankaracharya Temple. back to Hotel.

28Aug : Transfer to Pahalgam.Enroute stop at Saffron fields.

29Aug : Aru, Chandanwari and Betaab valley.


30Aug : Other local attractions at pahalgam

31Aug : Transfer to Srinagar, Check in houseboa.

01Sep : Trasfer to airport
