Need Guidance in Itinerary

Hi all,

My friend and myself have planned to visit srinagar coming august 10th and will be staying there till august 20th. This is our first trip to Jammu and kashmir and we are not very familiar with the places in and around srinagar. We would like to be suggested with an itinerary for our 8-day trip in srinagar. We prefer places which takes us more close to nature rather the common tourist places. Any help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Edward.

May I suggest you to visit the Forum Jammu & Kashmir by clicking here.

You would find a lot of threads which could be helpful to you! It would also help you in drafting an itinerary for your tour. Please post that itinerary so that members could refine it.

Dear,

If you want to be close to nature and not too touristy places then visit.

Dachigam wild life sanctuary
Yousmarg
Doodh Pathri
Aharbal Falls
Daksum
Aru Valley in Pahalgam
Gurez Valley.

Regards

Sunny

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I've come up with a very basic itinerary based on the common tourism websites. Please help me out in refining it.

August 11th - Would reach Srinagar at around 1:30 PM. Planned to rest for a while and visit Dal Lake in the evening. Overnight Stay in Srinagar.

August 12th - Leave for Gulmarg in the morning and enjoy the Gondola Ride till phase 2 (I'm not sure how long it will take for the round trip to complete), some local sightseeing (please suggest a few places based on the time left after gondola ride) and then return back to srinagar same day. Overnight Stay in Srinagar.

August 13th - This is where the confusion comes in.

Guys, I need ur help in this stage. We are really interested in going for a 2-3 day trek. On searching, I came across Kolohia Glacier trek(3 days) from pahalgam. Is it a safe place to trek considering the fact that we'll be trekking during Independece Day time.
Or are there any other trekking options available ?

August 14th -

August 15th - In case we take the Kolohia glacier trek, we shall reach pahalgam again on this day and then Stroll around for a while in Pahalgam for the remaining part of the day. Also, Is it safe to be in pahalgam on Independace day ?

August 16th - We are interested in visiting Yousmarg too. Is there any short way to reach Yousmarg from Pahalgam without srinagar ? If so, which is the best and economic mode of transport to reach Yousmarg ?

August 17th - Local sight seeing in Yousmarg(Suggest some places where we can spend time with nature). I heard that there is a one day trek to a lake. Please share some info about it.

August 18th - Reach Srinagar in the morning and Visit the gardens and other picnic spots in Srinagar. Overnight Stay in Srinagar.

August 19th - Spend the day in leisure with some shopping and a shikara ride.

August 20th - Leave for Bangalore in the early morning flight

Hello all,
I have one more query with respect tot the itinerary.
I'm confused whether to opt for yousmarg or sonmarg. Which among the two will be a better choice to spend two days ?

Thanks and Regards,
Edward
