need advice for a Kashmir trip..

i have something around 2.5days in hand.. and i want to visit kashmir anyhow. i have prepared a itine.. please have a look and let me know about stuffs that am missing.
Day1: Am reaching Jammu station at 12:45pm... I want to take a bus/car to Srinagar.
Day2: one day trip to gulmarg and back.
Day3: Sightseeing at Srinagar and shopping..
Day4: Get a vehicle to get down to jammu.

Now the things that i wanna know is:
1. can i get a luxury AC bus to Srinagar at that time at what cost?? also tell me if we can get taxis at sharing basis as we are 3 women travelling... also if we hire a car..say a non a/c Indica how much would it cost me?

2.how much can a private non a/c car cost me for the gulmarg tour?
how much will they charge us for this sight seeing for a day ?


It would be very good.. if any of you can provide me with some names and phone numbers of some travel agents .. that i can find near the Jammu Station.
Its my first visit.. and am very tensed... PLEASE HELP!

I'd suggest just spend the 2 days in Srinagar and enjoy the place. You can do Gulmarg, Sonmarg etc on a different trip. If you try to pack everything, it will be very hectic and not worth the effort.

Coming so far and spending just 2 days in kashmir are far too less and rightly as 10 yearitch said if you wana come concentrate on srinagar .

what for do you need travel agents for? you can get shared taxi from jammu railway station for kashmir.

You can easily cover the kashmir with out help of travel agent booking

would it be easy to get a hotel or a houseboat in the 1st week of October.. on the spot..??
i had heard from my friends that.. its the peak season for tourists.. due to the navratri utsab.

one more thing.. how far is the JKTDC tourist reception centre from the jammu station??

In october its not peak season and you can always get accomodation in houseboat easily, the TRC is about 7 kms from jammu railway station but no need of going there you can easily get shared taxis at the railway station itself.
