i am planning to go to kasmir in late june which should be the peak season.
how much time does it take to reach srinagar from jammu by bus and taxi?
what r the options available(taxi,bus) and its cost?
And which is the best place to stay in srinagar??

Hi

I went there in September. The overnight train from Amritsar arrived in Jammu about 6.00ish am.

The bus station is adjacent to the railway station.

The bus took from 7.30ish am until 5.30pm to Srinagar.

If you are scared of heights and narrow roads then don't sit up front with the driver. I did, and I loved it.

The cost was 420 rupee. A truly incredible trip.

I would try a houseboat for one night (for the experience) - that should encourage you to find a hotel/ boarding house for the rest of your stay.

An army of touts will be waiting to meet you at the bus station, and there are thousands of houseboats to choose from. There are different classes of houseboats but average cost would be about 350 rupee per night (meals extra).

Choose whether you wish to be on the river or the lake.

If the river, then you can get back to land easy from planks but if the lake then you need a water taxi.

I don't know about taxis from Jammu.

One should Travell from Jammu to Srinagar by road..

So U should travell By Road to srinagar.......
