Jammu - Katra - Patnitop - Jammu

Hello everyone. We are planning to go to Jammu Katra (and onto Mata) and Patnitop over the next 4 days.

The questions I have are:

1. Can someone suggest a decent hotel in Patnitop. I am looking for something in the upper middle range. Or a nice tent maybe?

2. If we hire a taxi for this circuit, can someone give an idea how much it would cost? Jammu-Katra-Patnitop-Jammu.

Thank you
Ramit Mahajan

Thanks. I just got back. I hired a taxi for four days @ Rs. 6000. Stayed in a hotel called Forest View in Patnitop. Decent hotel. They arranged a private bonfire for us too.

Mata trek was great as usual! Jai Mata Di!

Hello Mam,
I am planning to go Patnitop on honeymoon after darshan of Mata Rani. Kindly tell me some details about this hotel "Forest View".
Like what are the tariff and facilities and location.

The tariff was really cheap. Rs. 1000 (after negotiation). Rooms were decent with heaters etc. Our cab fellow took us there. Don't really know the address but it was close to the log huts (by car). The log huts seemed nice too.

Let me know what else you want to know.

All the best.

Cheers buddy.

Patnitop

Hi,

I recently came back from a trip of Jammu-Patnitop-Kashmir-Vaishnodevi. Patnitop is a nice quiet hill station, though there's nothing much to explore there. You can just go & relax there & enjoy the sorroundings.

I booked JKTDC hotel (Hotel Alpine) online via the JKTDC site (www.jktdc.co.in). The alpine deluxe double room I booked was very comfortable & had a fabulous view of the pine forest below & the snow-capped mountains (Rs. 1650/- per night). The hotel also has a bar & attached restaurant. Alternatively, you can also book the huts which are quite spacious, but they are a little far from the hotel/ restaurant.

I booked a car from the 'Tourist Taxi Stand' at Jammu for my entire trip. The telephone no. of the taxi stand is as follows: 0191-2563358/ 019542472644 (Mr. Charanpreet). My entire trip was for 9 days & they charged me Rs. 1800/- per day for Indica Vista. You can enquire about the rates with them.

Regards,
Avi
