Information on Jammu Srinagar Bus Service

Hi Guys,
Am going to Srinagar- Gulmarg from 25th January. so could someone plz tell me about the bus service from Jammu to Srinagar, like the timings, place from the bus will be boarded etc..

Jan 25th !!!! Ahhhh….. that will be a dream tour. Just trying to imagine snow covered Gulmarg…..I am jealous . I went there in October but it was a organized tour so don’t know details about Jammu to Srinagar bus service. But this is the site that provides best info of this region:

Well, again it is a tough case. We had a booking in Hotel New Shalimar (click for the pic) but not recommended at all. Some of our co-passengers were really frustrated and shifted to Hotel Paradise at Dal Gate (just opst to our hotel). According to them it was good. No idea about the tariff. And just a tip : don’t shy when you are bargaining in Kashmir. Got the message?

And for Gulmarg during this time of the year, I think you should trust J&K Tourism hotels only. Everything is covered by snow there and it is only Govt. organizations have good supply line. If the road becomes closed for a couple of days due to heavy snowfall shortage of food and other facilities will be a great problem. In this case Govt. hotels are the best. Please try to contact those are mentioned in the given link.

In Srinagar try the Welcome Hotel in Srinagar it is on Dal Lake and in Gulmarg try the Hotel Hilltop.

Sorry for late response have been offline...
At Welcome hotel about Rs1,500/night and at Hotel Hilltop am unsure as it is peak season for skiing.
