@sunnykashmir
i was in kashmir from 10th to 18th Sept'11...enjoyed a lot,but something remained INCOMPLETE...hence the thirst for visiting the Heaven remained.
What shall be best time for visiting Kashmir when -
1. i shall get good amount of snow,but not extreme weather condition
2.the climatic condition also should be acceptable to both young(<7yrs) & old ones(<70yrs).
3.and,discount in hotels too.

@Bhaiya

"aami kichudin aage kashmir theke ghure elam family niye,kono political problem/tension feel korini..weather fine"

You can see my Travelogue with pictures -"Mesmerising Kashmir Trip-Sept'11"

May is full season.Book hotels previously.

Mod Note
Kindly translate the Bengali text! I think you wanted to say that you recently went to Kashmir and there is "no" problem and you felt "no" tension.

Hotel rates on Bouleyvard Road are not budget one.
I stayed in Hotel Sahara,KohnKhan area,just a 5 mins. walk from Dalgate.It's a good,clean Budget Hotel.There are many Bengali hotels/restaurants around it - Hotel Shabnam,Claridge,Hotel Cathay.
Hotel Sahara(09419010592).The owner Mr.A.Hamid,a gentleman & retired officer of JKTDC.Full season rate @Rs.800-1000.Call & enquire.Eat bengali food at Hotel Shabnam & Clarigde..and stay at Hotel Sahara.
And,if you would like premium hotels,go to Bouleyvard Rd.Rates vary between Rs.2000-Rs.4000 in full season.

Dear,

If you are looking for seeing snow and do not want to face extreme wintry conditions than you should come in early march.

This is status in Srinagar on 19th October 2011.
We did visit any places including Lal Chowk. Even on Lal Chowk hardly five army personnel were patrolling. Every thing was quite. Rush in the markets may compete with rushes in any market similar to Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi. You may find heavy traffic jam in Dal Gate area in the after noon and evening! For me, Everything is safe in Srinagar.
10 out of 10 marks to the people's behavior there!
You will find some hard security near Srinagar Airport around one kilometer from Airport.
Whenever we have visited Srinagar we have found it so peaceful.
Regards, PraKaant

Travelling Kashmir

Preponed my travelling schedule, I shall visit by 2nd week of April this year. And as suggested by subhendu, I have already booked my hotels in kashmir and tata winger for travel. Now, please can any one say where is Baisharon in Pahelgam/J&K. Someone suggested me to visit the place. Since I am planning to visit Pahelgam on 10th to 12th of April and is expected to reach there by afternoon of 10th Apr, is it feasible to visit the place within 2 hours of time since I'll have to back to my hotel by evening that day itself. Please suggest.

and thanks a lot to subhendu for valuable suggestion.
