Gulmarg Cable ride...

Any suggetions/information about Cable car ride in Gulmerg/Kasmir....
What is the best season for cable ride in kashmir?
How long is the ride from starting point to finishing point..
How much does it cost per person?
and for how long one can enjoy cable car ride........

i think winter will be the most beautiful

The Gulmarg Gondola is in two parts. First from Gulmarg - Kongdori and then phase II from Kongdori to Apherwat.

The price for Phase I is Rs. 300 & for Phase II Rs. 500.

You may do both or any one of them.

For skiers the rates are Rs. 150 and Rs. 250 for Phase I & II.

I think there are too many travellers for cable car ride so there must be pre-booking sysyem....wt say?

you dont need a cable ride during winters as the entire gulmarg will be covered with atleast 4ft snow.

we went on cable ride during summer of 2007 and they charged 750/- per head for each level. there are two levels so 1500/- per head. it will take about 30 minutes to reach the top. but the view will be fantastic.

Is the charge for riding is same for Indians & Non Indians .....or is there any difference?

Tkts. are available at the counter...in season there is a rush.

Rates are same for all visitors........

Only for Skiers there are different rates.

Gulmarg is not big destination its take only day
the place are to visit at gulmarg affwart, kongdor,alpather lake there you can reach by cable car
catholic chruch and old temple near to main market of gulmarg

You are so right, all that you have mentioned is what Gulmarg is about. Just beautiful, and on the first stop over eat some potato patties they are the most delicious. Sit out under the clouds and enjoy.

When i tried to book Gondola tickets online, there is timing shown in the tickets, So if i am not able to reach the Gonodola station on time then the ticket cannot be used later?
