Dal Lake transport

Info needed.
I may not stay in a houseboat when I visit Srinagar. Like to know if there are boats that provide transport around the lake in the morning- like to go take some photos (esp if misty) and see the various activities on the lake.

There are lots of boats which offer the same.they are called shikaras.they charge pretty high.i paid 200 rupees for an hour ride.try o get it down to 150 per hour or soo.full round aroung dal about 800 i guess.
