Hi avichal!

Good to hear that you have come back. I am starting my Kashmir trip on 18th Sept. Could you please post your TR on or before my departure date? I will be grateful if you can do this. I would be updated with latest inputs regarding Kashmir trip. If this is not feasiable, I would request you to please share at least the followings:

1. How did you reach Srinagar from Jammu (if you have traveled by rail). Details please with contact number etc.
2. If you have stayed overnight at Jammu or Patni Top, please share the name of the place and their contact number etc.
3. What mode of transport you had used for Srinagar/Gulmarg/Sonmarg local sight seeing with details of contact number etc.
4. How did you reach Pahelgam from Srinagar and where did you stay at Pahalgam with details please.
5. Any tips? (I have got your first tip i.e. Bargain hard, anything else?)

Thanks.

in phalgham i stayed at hotel called RAJ PALACE which has very good view it is bang at front on main road there are 5 hotels just near to it so you can try them in raj i payed 1000 rs a night
in srinagar someone stayed at marjan guest house so did i it is located near ghat no 9 there is banner indicating the direction from ghat 9 ,at just rs 500 per night it is in tourist hub the only disadvantage is no view for that i changed hotel to hotel dal view at rs 900 per night it is in front bolevard road giving view of dal lake it is between ghat 6 and ghat 7 red colour building so that it is easy for you to identify

one way of reaching phalgham from srinagar is also by sumos which operate from there i will explain it in reverse way as travelled i mean phalgham to srinagar
from phalgham you will get sumo seat in it for rs 60 per person till anantnag ( they call it slamabad which they refer to islamabad) they are easily available till that point they will drop you there within 10 -15 min you will get next sumo for srinagar from anantnag stand for 70 rs seat they will drop you on dal gate area on way to batmaloo stand so to conclude you pay 130 rs 1 person for phalgham to srinagar

1 special mention to houseboat ambassador mr HUSAM he is a wonderful person the owner of this houseboat i was in constant touch with this person for almost 2 month from the day i planned my trip nearly 20 25 telephone before reaching valley
but when i reached his houseboat it was in 2 row ( which he told me before also ) he greeted me and showed his houseboat we were already in a hotel staying in srinagar and after 2 vdays from that day we would be back in srinagar so we went to have a look but found other houseboat in front so decided to stay in that houseboat but still this guy did not complain whatsoever
if it would anyother kashmiri would have gone angry like hell he was very sweet said no problum you could and have breakfast with me anytime you wish he called me 2 times for lunch free of cost he is someone very genuine person will recomend this houseboat and a very good person his numbers is 09906472045

I think shikara crossing from hb to ghat should be free as you mentioned. If it includes sight seeing in Dal lake within 1000/- then it would be great..

Thank you avichal for prompt reply. I am indeed grateful. Can 4 people be accommodated in an Auto at Srinagar?
