Airtel Service in Gulmarg?

Google has let me down...but I have high hopes that you won't. Does anyone know if my Airtel mobile will function in Gulmarg? It doesn't appear so...but I can find a recent coverage map nor any information online.

Thanks much! Looking forward to my first trip to Gulmarg on Saturday!

My airtel mobile that works all over India stopped functioning in Srinagar. I was told that I would have to buy a new sim etc. So your airtel will not work in Srinagar/ Gulmarg

In case you're interested...I just returned from a great weekend in Gulmarg and I can confirm that Airtel does indeed work not only in Gulmarg...but all over the ski mountain as well. In fact, Airtel EDGE service works up there so I was able to stay connected to my work email on my blackberry as I was riding the Gondolla up inbetweeen rides.
Prasantc...not sure what your problem was in Srinagar...I had no issues staying connected with Airtel there as well.

Three networks are currently functional in the entire Jammu and Kashmir circle:
Airtel
BSNL
Aircel

Of these, BSNL has the maximum number of towers, and the most congested network.
Airtel supposedly offers a better quality of service across J&K.
