Acommodation at Srinagar

Hello, i was just wondering if any of you could give some advice, I am flying to Srinagar on the 20th July (me with my girlfriend and two girlfriends of hers , could you please recommend a place for a two-nights stay? My initial idea was looking for a houseboat at Neegin Lake, as i have heard that is quite calm and really nice sorroundings, though far from city. Do you think it is worthy staying there, or better at Dal Lake?

Any suggestions on houseboats? I am looking for an average rate boathouse, clean and with nice meals. Would not mind paying above average if it is really recommended.

Thank you very much in advance!

Buenos dia mukesh,
i was in Srinagar a year ago and stayed only 1 night in a houseboat. and felt a bit trapped/farmed to tell you the truth.
had a more relaxed time staying at 2 hotels at dal gate (one was Dhum Dhum, the other was behind it in the lane, cheap but i forgot the name) 'cos we could come and go wandering at will.
but of course the boats are an icon and if you get a good host would be exquisite and romantico!
you might want to check the state of the lakes at the moment.
enjoy srinagar and kashmir! i loved the place

I stayed in a houseboat in Dal Lake in the first week of April for Rs. 1000/- per night. Was slightly costly but the experience was good. The family was also very good. If you need details, I shall give.
