4 day Kashmir Tour

Good morning!

This is my first post here!

I'm planning a tour of Kashmir in mid-October, 5 days, 4 nights. I want to stay in a house boat on Dal Lake and make day trips to Gulmarg, Sonmarg and Pahalgam. After this, I'll take a flight to Jammu and then a car trip to Kullu and Manali. Can anyone give me some advice regarding the Houseboat accomodation in Srinagar on Dal Lake? Also, how much would it cost to rent a car from Srinagar for these day trips? Is there an easier way to go to Kullu without going to Jammu i.e. from either Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg or Pahalgam? I'm a bit worried about the weather. I know it'll be a bit cold, but was wondering if anyone could give me specifics! Thanks!

You'll be arriving in Srinagar during the off-season, so you should be able to get a good rate. Negotiate with HB owners directly, and also for any taxi fees to the locations you mentioned. Have a great trip

Thanks. What are the usual rates for houseboats in the off-peak season? Also, am I likely to catch any snow anywhere?

I've left out the Manali plan from my itinerary.. It's becoming too hectic. So I have two more days in Kashmir, Yippee!
