What are the 'must visit' shops in Jaipur?

My 3 daughters and I will be in Jaipur only 2 days, They want to do elephant rides and we'll see the Lakshmi Narayan Mandir and the fort...and Panchayati Hall but we also want to do some shopping as I've heard it was a great place to shop.

Can any of y'all recommend a few 'must see' shops so we don't waste our time in plastic made-in-china tourist trinket type ya know places. We mostly want to shop for jewelry (not the real high end gold and diamonds type but more modest crafty things, silver, semi-precious gemstones ...even costume 'nice' items...and fabric (for sewing.) Hindu statuettes and such religious items would be on our shopping list as well.

The govt emporium Rajasthali should be your first stop. You can get an idea of the various handicrafts available and the prices. Onces you have an idea you can shop from other places too.

Read the article attached below. It covers most of the shopping areas in Jaipur and item specific shops. There is a list of recommended shops as per various items at the end of the article. My suggestion will be to check out the shops to get a price idea and choice available and thereafter start your shopping. Refrain from impulse buying (Jaipuri fabrics and jewellery can be tempting) and coming across better and cheaper stuff in the adjoining shop.
