wedding in jaipur... all invited !

actually i'm new here and looking for some advice for an intimate venue for a small wedding with about 40/50 guests.

i am travelling from the uk with my party and plan to tour the golden triangle. i've done this before but couldnt drag everyone out to india without showing them the sites.

i had originally planned the oberoi in agra with its taj views, romance etc but the more i thought about it the more i thought agra wasn't right.

i'm now thinking jaipur, maybe samode haveli as its intimate and i could probably book the entire place out.

does anyone have any advice, experiences that they could share with me.

would be appreciated, you might even get an invite.

Hi,

I have been to Dungarpur and stayed at the Udai Bilas Palace. Its located 120 km from Udaipur.
The surroundings are just beautiful, the staff is so nice.
A good place for a small intimate wedding.
You even might get to see the Maharadja and Maharani!

Their website is:

Rather than the Samode Haveli, go for the Samode Palace. They dont accept group bookings at Samode Haveli and will never block the entire Haveli for you. At Samode you have the option of staying at the Palace and having the wedding there or (if your budget does not permit) , staying at the Bagh and having the wedding at the Palace. This is definitely the best wedding venue in Rajasthan.

Jyotirmoy dada, Rambagh has created a new lawn for wedding well away from the main building (to cut all that noise and stop guests complaining). Unfortunately there is no view anymore of the main building from this lawn. You could be at any marriage garden!!

Thanks for the info npjai.

why do haveli not cater for groups?

I was originally looking at the palace but thought it was a bit far out from jaipur?
i want my guest to be able to explore but i suppose they could do this around the palace.

hmmm, i'm going to have to think a bit more.

The Haveli has limited rooms and there are always bookings from individual travellers. The Palace is an hour's drive from Jaipur. You can always let your guests esxplore Jaipur before the wedding, buy their achkans(men) or ghaghra/cholis(women) etc... At Samode, because, people have to spend time with each other, weddings become an intimate affir. In Jaipur theyll all be sightseeing on their own!!

thanks once again for the info.

the problem i have is that i will be arriving in Delhi, spending a few days there and then travelling to Jaipur (or samode now) for my wedding. then i plan to head to the Taj Mahal for a photo shoot a few days later.
so i would have to travel to jaipur after my wedding but before going to agra.
i dont want to miss Jaipur.

umm. i think it will be the samode palace.
do you have any views about the samode bagh?
this sounds cool and may be a nice experience for my party.

and did i just read somewhere you have a club in jaipur np?

whats the name/address, i will have to pop in and buy you a drink!

The Bagh is the best value for money. Stay there and have the wedding at the Palace. Itll be great to meet up for a drink. We could meet up at the Ashok Club or the Jaipur Club depending on which part of Jaipur youre in. Give me a call at 9829063343 and well fix it up. Are you a photographer? You mention a shoot in Agra.

PS - The person to contact at Samode is Vivek Yagnik 9828584467 and his email is palace@samode.com

I'm getting married in Jaipur also

Hi All,

I'm so glad I found this forum. I live in New York and am planning a wedding in Jaipur for November. Since I've been a little girl, I always thought Rambagh was beautiful, so we are trying to have the wedding there.

What are some other locations that would be beautiful for the ladies sangeet with minimal noise restrictions. I was thinking of having it at a beautiful lawn, but wanted it to be someone heritage. Any suggestions.

Additionally, any designers that I can look at for bridal wear? Or any boutiques in Jaipur that I can investigate? Any wedding planners that you might suggest will be useful as well.

I'm so clueless when it comes to these things.

November is the busy season. Have you booked the rooms for your guests? Woudl recommend Jai Mhala more than Rambagh for the wedding. Youll see why when you compare the lawns. Sangeet would be best in the conference hall in Rajputana as there are no noise restrictions there. Any email me at nikpandit@gmail.com if you need any advice anytime. Have a wonderful wedding!
