Tips for visit to Jaipur from Delhi
Four of us are planning a two-night trip to Jaipur next week.
Our own driver will be taking us there and back but, as he's not familiar with Jaipur, we'll probably need to hire a local car and driver for a one day tour of the city. Any idea how much this would cost for a vehicle with A/C, and can anyone recommend a driver/guide? Also, are there any good, clean, toilet/snack stops on the Delhi/Jaipur road? |

For good, clean Toilet/Snack stop at the RSRTC Behror hotel. This place is exactly mid way between Delhi and Jaipur.
The cost of vehicle at Jaipur would be same as it is at Delhi. I think 250 KMs a day is minimum. Rate per KM depends on the type of car. AC Innova should be INR 11/- per KM. Plus some tip for driver. |

Are self driven cars available for hire in Jaipur? What would be the cost of a Swift Diesel or an Indica Diesel??

Jaipur can be pretty hard for travellers. When I was there I used a driver called Ajmera who was incredibly nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I am not sure I can give you the number on the forum but am happy to contact you with the number if you wish.

Indizen,
I doubt that you can get a self driven car from a reputed vendor at Jaipur. These services are mostly available at Big/Metro Cities. May be you want to hire a self driven car from Delhi and then drive up to Jaipur. |

Thanks for all your posts, although most of them arrived after our trip to Jaipur.
In the end we hired an air-conditioned Innova for the day for INR 1500, including driver. |
