Quiet hotel in Jaipur: Pearl Palace or Jasvillas?

Hi,
I am trying to find a quiet (and, better, central) hotel in Jaipur. I sent emails to Diggi, but they dont answer.
What is better: Pearl Palace or Jasvillas?
Is Pearl Palace quiet at night (no traffic noise?)?

Jas Vilas I heard is great. But I couldn't get reservations in Mid February because it's packed. I guess you have to try and book early with them.

Try the Jaipur Ashok. Very nice hotel, and if you get a room at the back of the hotel, it's also very quiet.

I have heard good things about Jasvilas but I really can't comment since I haven't been there (yet).

Besides, the two hotels are really in a different price category.

I did however stay at the Pearl Palace when I was in Jaipur. It was great and very cheap, for what it offered. Great rooms, great restaurant on the rooftop (try the chicken afghani). Rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, AC works, room service is great, food is very cheap and good. I'd highly recommend Pearl Palace. There's not much traffic noise because it's not on a main road per se, but in a quiet road in between a few big ones.

Thumbs up Pearl Palace

I totally agree about Pearl Palace, skinnylatte. I stayed there about two years ago. Cannot stop thinking about those banana lassis in the sun on the terrace. Can't remember being bothered by (traffic) noise. I'd stay there again.

Below is my review of Jasvilas, 14 members have replied to it giving their views, it has to be read to be believed, if the hotel is full (only 8 rooms), they deserve it, still my favourite place in India.

We absolutely ban advertising by members of the travel (or any other, for that matter) industry.

You might be surprised at the lengths to which some members of that industry will go to get around such bans on a site like this which serves the exact market they want to talk to. Pretending to be a happy customer is for starters.

Hence, when in doubt we delete messages that may be adverts. False positives happen...

It's one of the ways we try to keep IndiaMike a good site.

'Mike Mike' may or may not agree...

In a big, bustling city, very quiet and central are words that do not go together.

Jasvilas is reasonably close to some of the tourist attractions, though the attractions are so spread out that no hotel is going to be close to many of them.

Jasvilas is set back from the road, helping to keep the place quiet and extremely relaxed, I walked to most places from the hotel, but then again, a long walk to get anywhere isn't a problem for me, I sometimes enjoy the walk more than the place I'm walking to.

There are a couple of rickshaws outside Jasvilas (and the hotel next door), and Jasvilas can also arrange a car & driver if needed.

It takes me about 50 minutes to walk from Jasvilas to the train station, but a Rickshaw will do the journey in about 7 or 8 minutes.

Hotels which r realy central r ummaid bhawan n umaid mahal which r quiet n peaceful n the prices r range Rs 2500.
it's near railway station only u could say 2 k.m from the railway station in bani park i suppose for exact address u have to go to the site.
Sajjan niwas is next to umaid bhawan which is quiet cheaper than all these in range of Rs 1200/1500.depends on the rooms.
thanks

Dera Rawatsar, D-194/c, Vijay Path, Behind Sindhi Camp Bus Station, Bani Park, Jaipur-302016.
Certainly not easy to find, even for auto drivers, but if you're reasonably fit, within walking distance from the centre. A charming place, not too many rooms, so the service was very personal and considerate. The kind of place where when you get to the miniscule front desk, they already have your key in their hand. Owned and run by an old Maharani, who has decorated the dining room with photos of the Maharaja and their son. "Park" is a fair description of the environment. You could even breath the air!

I have no idea of the price, as this was part of a package bought in Delhi. It should be very good value, low mid-range?
