I went on a Saturday night at the end of February and got there early. It was busy, but not irritatingly so. I don't know what you're afraid of in terms of crowds - if you've walked through Indian city centre streets e.g. Old Delhi bazaars, that's crowded! Chokki Dhani wasn't like that.
I didn't have a particularly good evening at Chokki Dhani - I went on my own, and everyone else seemed to be in groups, families or couples. It was also the only place I went where I felt strangely self-conscious as virtually the only white face in the crowd, and wished I'd gone in western clothes not salwar kameez. |
