One day trip delhi jaipur delhi
Hey IM,
Writting after a long time. Actually we two couples planning a day trip to jaipur on weekend. Pls suggest what all place in jaipur need to be visited. We'll drive down to jaipur in the morning and return back by night or we are flexible in staying overnight and covering some more places whlie retuning to delhi next day. Also pls advise is one day is sufficient for covering all major spots of jaipur and how much time by road from delhi to jaipur. Request all to give quick suggestions. Regards VJRD |

One day is not enough time to visit even the most interesting and important sites in Jaipur. Two of them are a bit outside the city: (1) Amber Fort and (2) Monkey Temple.
Within the city the must-sees include: (3) City Palace, (4) Jantar Mintar, and (5) Hawa Mahal. Also worth seeing are: (6) Singh family tombs and (7) Birla Mandir. Of the many fascinating cities I've visited in India, Jaipur stands close to the top. For me, even five days were not enough. |

I think you should at least stay overnight - I reckon you will be exhausted after the drive, the rapid sightseeing and then another drive back.
My suggestion is to leave early morning to give yourselves more time for looking about. Amber Fort is a must see, City Palace and Hawa Mahal, also. And just have a drive around the city area - the superb layout, roundabouts etc. are well worth seeing. Go around the government areas, and where the Albert Museum is for a drive. Treat yourselves to lunch at Niro's - MG Road - and a great lassi from the lassiwallas opposite. I saw an ad in the paper the other day for a new twin restaurant complex now opening, that looked pretty good! I'm wondering if one of our Jaipuri members can help out here?
