The same tour can be done much cheaper by bus - ask any travel agency. I did it and I loved it.
However, obviously I am the only one here who travelled around India on a budget unthinkable for you all LOL - 1100 Rs for half a day!!! and you call this a reasonable price OMG!
Relax - I know it's reasonable for a car trip
And yes there's a night bus from Delhi to Jaipur - ask the manager of your hotel - he'll book seats for you.

Isn't Delhi a little close to Jaipur for a overnight bus?...............The morning train only takes 4.5hrs for the trip.

oh, so you mean i'd better take an overnight train?
but i heard the delay of the train's much severe, isn't it?

I had a problem with train delays only once during my 6-month visit in India so I don't think this could be an issue.
If I were you I would take the latest bus to Jaipur, arrive there early in the morning so that I'd have plenty of time for a nice half or even full day tour - the lunch is usually at some exotic place
And then I'd sleep it off in the night train to my next destination.

The train leith mentioned is a premium class train and seldom subject to delays, as it is always priortised on the track!
alright,,i think it's better to take a night bus for time saving... but u see,,,i am a solo female all the way, i wonder if it is safe to catch a bus there late at night. and still,,where could i find such info about buses? do i need to book a seat/ berth in advance? or i just go to the station and buy a ticket then get on the bus?
much thanks!
much thanks!
the first thing to do after you arrive in Delhi and settle in the hotel of your choice is to ask the manager about the night bus to Jaipur - he'll book a seat for you and will arrange for your safe arrival at the bus station no matter how late at night it could be.
As far as travelling alone and being a female is conserned - don't worry - in case you have common sense enough to survive whereever you are now you won't have any problems with safety in India unless you insist on wandering alone in the dark aleys of the big cities. I travelled alone and there were a lot of ocasions when I arrived somewhere at 3 or 4 am - never had a problem. The trick is to be dressed appropriately and to never do what you would not do in your home country

you can find night buses from "Bikaner House" in delhi, these buses run by the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation, these buses are A/C coches, very comfertable, you can also find VOLVO buses from there.
