Jaipur Questions? Go ahead!
Okay, so I'm looking at make my trip.com, and there is an overnight bus from Jaipur to Haridwar. Does anyone have experience with that?
It would be faster assuming there isn't too much traffic. It's listed as a SL and ST operated by Vishvakarma Travels.

If you must take a bus in Rajasthan, by all means take the RSRTC (rajasthan state road transport corp) bus ... private operators are unreliable and simply, the state bus will get you there much faster (the state bus doesnt care if they sell all the tickets - a scheduled bus is a scheduled bus). If you're in Jaipur a week or so ahead of your trip, go to the main bus stand and book yourselves a ticket on the overnight volvo to haridwar .....
Jaipur local site-seeing itinerary
Went through hundreds of posts on Jaipur/Raj and have come up with an itinerary for local site-seeing, but still some gaps left. Need some advice. thanks in advance.
Travellers: 4 families, 3 of them with 3 yrd old kids. Also, 2 pregnant women!
We are reaching jaipur tom noon. Plan to "start" trip at around 2.30 pm post lunch
- Amber fort + Sound/light show for the day.(2.30 pm to EOD)
- (day 2 - morning) Is Hawa Mahal + Jantar Mantar + City palace possible in half day? Can the second half be used for Jaigarh/Nahagarh fort?
- I was told that there is way to walk from Amber to Jaigarh. Any idea how tough/long this walk is ?
Our train to Jaisalmer is on Sunday night (Day 2) around 1130 pm. So, we have the entire Day 2.
thanks in advance for the advice.

The sunset from Nahargarh fort is amazing. Just ask around from where to view it. You need to get out of the fort and walk a little but it is beautiful.

Hi Jorge,
Friday evening you can visit Chokhi Dhani, its a traditional village kinda set up in the city. Evening is the right time to visit that place. Saturday you can plan visit to historical places & forts - Hawa Mahal, Jal Mahal, Amber & Jaigarh fort etc. And if you are very much into historical places then you can plan your stay at samode palace or samode bagh.

Hello Jorge,
I will try to answer here:
a) please look at this thread for some ideas about visiting Jaipur independently and what to see in two days (I'd like to avoid typing the same stuff over again): 2 day trip to Jaipur (my post #5 on this thread).
b) You're looking at the wrong station. Palanpur is in Gujarat state. Palampur is in Himachal Pradesh. They sound similar (n versus m in the middle) The best option to go to that area would be to take one of the many trains that are bound for Pathankot from new delhi or Chakki Bank station (most Jammu bound trains stop there) and then take a taxi or bus up to Dharamsala. The only direct train is AII JAT express that takes 14 hours to reach PTK. Please use 90di.com to figure this out.

Trains 12958 & 12916 go to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, totally the opposite direction to Himachal Pradesh.
You would be better getting train 12413 to Chakki bank and getting a taxi to McLeod from there. Sadly this train has no Foreign Tourist Quota. When do you want to travel?

The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
