Question How long in Jaipur?

Hi, we're planning to visit Jaipur and Agra in December and from what I've read I think one night is enough in Agra, just long enough to see the Taj at sunset and at early morning, but how long should we plan in for Jaipur if we want to see:

City Palace
Hawa Mahal
Jantar Mantar
Govind Devi temple
Amber Fort
Galwar Bagh
...and do some shopping in the bazaars (husband is a dedicated shopper)

Any advice much appreciated

Cheers

Your itinerary can be comfortably completed in two days.

For Jaipur, you may checkout Hotel Pearl Place also. It's run by a friendly Sikh and is an Excellent place to stay.

I agree with Deliwala,The Pearl Palace is lovely.I stayed there in March for five nights and Mr Singh and his staff really looked after me.

The hotel is quirkily designed and decorated and the rooftop restaurant is lovely.Room rates are good and cheap too.

Happy travels,Laney

Hotel Swagatam ain't what it used to be.
It's quite noisy, unless you get a back room.
It's like trying to sleep on the main road.

If I can offer one suggestion? Go up to Naharghar Fort in the evening and watch the sunset. The fort is a ruin and not much to see but the view is great and hundreds of bats and swallows come out of the fort in the evening.

I can recommend the sunrise there too. Although you have to beat the rooster out of bed by a good hour & a half to get there for the morning spectacle. Regardless, twilight is thee time for a visit to that vintage crow's nest.

Didn't see any bats, swallows or Indiana Jones for that matter .... but it did kind of remind of Pankot Palace.

I'm glad you're staying there, this way I don't have to publicly slag off Hotel Saket's restaurant.

(Oops, just did)
