Hotel suggestions?
Can anyone suggest a hotel in Jaipur....we will only be there for 2 nights, as most of our trip we'll be in Delhi where we've already booked a hotel...a 'budget' place there in Delhi...and as we only have 2 days in Jaipur and hotel prices are cheaper in Jaipur for the more higher end places it seems. So we are considering splurging on a nicer place those 2 nights in Jaipur.
We'd really prefer some place with real traditional Indian decor, cultural style ya know...not like a nice but bland Hilton or Holiday inn that could be in NYC or London or anywhere. Know what I mean? Please share any suggestions, you may have. Blessings Ginger |

We stayed at the Hotel Maduban, a lovely small family run heritage hotel in a residential area near the railroad station. They will pick you up from there for free (as I remember).
The Super Delux (we had it--big nice room that I think could sleep 4 as a sofa looked like it could be a bed) is less than $50 but they have a few other types of rooms both smaller & cheaper & some that can sleep more people. http://www.madhuban.net/ |

Try one of the heritage hotels. The following ones will be around Rs2000 to Rs3000 a night
1. Umaid bhavan http://www.umaidbhawan.com/ 2. Umaid mahal http://www.umaidmahal.com/ 3. Chirmi palace http://www.hotelsjaipur.com/hotel_ch...ace_jaipur.htm |

thanks for all the info.
I had checked out the Umaid ones and the Chirmi ones last night online. I had not heard of the Maduban or the Samode...will look into them. Anyone have an opinion with the Diggi Palace, or the Baba Haveli, those two I had also checked out. Blessings Ginger |

Diggi Palace is also an excellent option...beautiful little Heritage property with lush, green lawns located in the heart of the city!!!
