Hindi Classes in Jaipur

Hi everyone,

I recently moved to Jaipur and I'm looking for a Hindi language class. I don't want a private teacher as I enjoy the atmosphere of a classroom better.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks
Caterina

I think I've responded to this once but cant seem to find that thread : Try Jaipur school of hindi. They're here: http://jaipurhindi.com/

...found something else from an earlier thread: http://www.aiislanguageprograms.org/hindi.php

(no personal experience tho!)

Found it?

Hi Caterina,
I recently moved to Jaipur too, and desperately searching for a hindi class in jaipur.
I too prefer the class lesson than private teacher but I found it so hard to find.
So if you already found the class, please tell me and I would love to start as soon as possible!

Thank you.

I posted this same question on the thorn tree forum at Lonely Planet and had a few people message me privately offering private lessons. The only group class I found was already closing their enrollment for the Fall semester, and was about $3000 USD for the semester.

I'm also hoping for Hindi classroom lessons after I move to Jaipur, but would be nervous to sign up for them since I won't be on a student visa. I'll be on an Entry (x) visa, which prohibits studying, working, etc. However, I would be very interested to hear any updates from either of you, if you find something.

There is an American educational institute there. You might google about to see if you can pick up on that. i am sure that is group lessons. But, likely someone involved will do tuitions..

The American Institute of Hindi Studies is the one I referenced before that already had closed their admission when I did research in February. And they were expensive. Here is part of the email they sent to me:

"We have a formal application process, and our application deadline was on January 31st (as it is every year). I would like to assist you, however, and I am wondering what your level of study
is. If you are a beginner, you had best apply for our fall semester program, which begins in early September and ends in December. Our tuition is $3,000 for the semester."

Hopefully this info could help someone else considering studying there.
