Heritage hotels in Jaipur? Diggi palace?
Has anyone been to Diggi Palace? I found this site of Jaipur hotels I'm trying to find a characteristic place to stay for 1 or 2 nights (depending on a price) since I probably need to skip Neemrana Fort Palace because of the lack of time...

Diggi
I stayed there 2 years ago.. From memeory the room was quite small and possibly more than I normally pay but I really liked it. Also really nice restaurant. It was truly an oasis. It was my second visit to Jaipur and I won't be going back... Also Hotel has nice lawn area and gardens complete with romping Boxer dogs!

Stayed at Diggi palace several years ago and was impressed, nice place. There are large rooms available, we took one so my travel partner could convalesce from her food poisoning.

Narayan Niwas is also a heritage hotel of some sort--a converted town palace quite close to the Rumbagh Palace. Back in the mid-90s we paid nearly nothing to stay there, maybe $25. Now it looks like it is up to $90(!!). Probably is worth it, even at that price.

I stayed here in the "cottage" or suite about 2 years back. The cottage room was pretty nice, excepting the stinking and broken fridge.
Food is pretty ok, but the outdoor dining area is really nice. The court yard is the best feature of the hotel with its birds. Very beautiful. The staff however we did not get on so well with. I felt ok with them, but my girlfriend really didn't get along with them at all, and was pretty unhappy staying here. So overall, as long as you are not expecting a warm welcome you will probably enjoy it. The place looks the part.
