Budget hotels in Jaipur

Has anyone on the forum stayed at Dodas Palace, Blue Bird, Bagga Villas or Hotel Chawla in Jaipur? How are these places? How do they compare with other hotels in the same price bracket? Which hotel would you recommend in the INR 1500 to 2000 range?
Thank you very much.

Actually those four hotels are listed in the directory of a major conference I'm due to attend in Jaipur, and before making my reservations I thought I'll compare with the ones I know through Indiamike.

Yes I think RTDC hotel Gangaur situated near Khasa Kothi/Circuit House would be a good bet. It is barely 1 KM from Both Railway station and bus stand. The accomodation is basic. Decent size room, AC, restraunt, etc.

I really really didn't get the bus stand one.
I'm still trying to cope with CDs.
I live in a world without Mobiles/cellphones, and all the stuff associated with them.

How does Hotel Arya Niwas compare with Hotel Pearl Palace? The rates are almost similar.

Dunno 'bout the Pearl Palace, so my presumption is that it is not upto the same standards as Arya Niwas (since I have stayed in Jaipur for 2+ years, all the good hotels do come up in discussion someway or the other).

But for the last day of my stay in Jaipur I'd like to upgrade to a better hotel. Please help me choose between Umaid Mahal and Umaid Bhawan. Or any other? Under INR 1500.
