Best Thali restaurant ~
where do you reckon I'll get the best thali whilst in Jaipur .
Not bothered if it's veg or non-veg just want it to be heavenly . If you have any prices too then share them....it's good to get some kind of an idea . I've seen that the chain Rajdhani have a place here too , is it worth checking out theirs , or will I find better elsewhere ![]() |

food
Might be a better idea to ask the hotel you are staying and also contingent upon your budget. Make sure it's the best. There should be plenty around serving the vegetarian 4 course fare.

I liked the Thali at Chokhi Dhani.... But it's pure Rajasthani Style food and not everybody may like it.

I had one lunch at LMB also, but I regret it.
Food was nothing great, just average and it was way too pricey. Service was bad.... I think the success has gone to their head... |

Exactly my words, you find your self cheated there. My cousin lost his digital camera in LMB , i strongly suspect waiters are paid peanuts there. ![]() Kadhi pakora has no taste without onion garlics, and this is their speciality. They claim this as authentic rajasthani food, but i uderstand rajasthanis eat lot of onions Veg offcourse. |

Funny enough I've read the reviews for LMB and more recently they've not been great . I'm a lover of garlic /onion and find food rather lacking in taste when it's omitted .
As for Chokhi Dhani , once again popularity has caused their standards to slip it would appear from reviews . Also they reckon the journey out there at night can be pretty scary as the drivers use it as a race track...this put me off totally . My hotel does a thali and from one guest photo it looks lovely , but I have seen others from restaurants that specialise in thalis and they look the best , infact they look divine . |

Infact in my home all food is cooked without onion and garlic. Regarding Rajasthan, our roots are from Rajasthan only and a large section of society their avoids onion and garlic, however majority does eat them. Otherwise Pyaz Kachori will not be so popular there .I was there last week itself (Id Weekend) and here are my thoughts Choki Dhani - It was Sunday night and it was very crowded. The entry price was bit of a surprise for me, but I did not know food was part of it. Anyhow we shelved out Rs. 350 per head and went in, and gosh was that place crowded. The buffet was more crowded than open langars. Anyhow, once we settled in the food was lovely and it was worth my moneys worth. This was my first time there, and I found the quality to be quite god looking at the crowd over there. LMB - We decided to have our breakfast there, it was Id morning, and only couple of tables were occupied. Decided to go Authentic, ordered Bedmi Sabzi, Pyaz Kachoris and Dal Kachoris. bedmi sabzi was nothing to write home about, and was rather steeply priced. Kachoris even though Rs.16 and Rs.20 a piece respectively, were quite good and worth the effort. |
