Arriving in Jaipur

Hi

This is my first post - so I hope this is the right place to post it!

I'm catching the train from Agra to Jaipur. The only available service arrives in Jaipur at 22.20pm. I'm a female, travelling alone and was wondering if this is a 'sensible' time of night to arrive? Does anyone know if there is a pre-paid taxi option at the station? I'm not keen on the idea of getting a random taxi at that time of night...

Thanks!

Where are you staying and will your hotel send a car? Many will.

Thanks - I was going to try and book the Pearl Palace (wish me luck!). I did consider arranging a hotel pick-up but assumed it might be pretty difficult to find the driver in a busy train station - but sounds like it is a feasible option?

You will probably find that when you ask the hotel to pick you up they will ask for your train and berth/coach details. Then, when you get off the train the driver will be there on the platform. He'll find you!

Don't worry! He'll find you. His commission depends on it!
Incidentally, I can recommend the Madhuban Hotel. I originally planned to stay at the Pearl Palace but it was fully booked so I stayed here and I couldn't fault it. It was by far the best room I had in India.
