Are Agra sights possible in a day???

My husband and I will be arriving in Agra at around 8:00am via Bophal Shatabdi Express and plan to proceed to Jaipur. Would like to know if it would be possible to visit Taj, Red Fort and Fatipur Sikri within same day and still be able to reach Jaipur by the evening. If possible, would appreciate recomendations on transport options to these places.

Also plse advise if Fatrpur Sikri would be recommended bearing in mind that we would be carting luggage with us. Thru another post, was advised that there is luggage facility in Taj and Red Fort but am not sure if the same applies to Fatepur Sikri.

Many Thanks

Yes it is possible, Your visit will always fit the time available.

If you're onward journey was by car/driver you could stop at Fatipur Sikri on the way to Jaipur, You would also have the car to leave your luggage in whilst visiting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks for yr reply Seventies Hippie, however have already booked rail ticket from Delhi to Agra. Would it be possible to hire taxi at the railway station for Agra sights including Fatephur Sikri? Also would taxi the have to take us to Jaipur or would it be possible to still go via bus from Fatephur Sikri?

I don't know about hiring a taxi from the train station, someone should be able to advise you on a driver than that who doesn't have to tout for business at the train station.
Of course after Fatephur Sikri you could dispense with the driver & travel on as you wish, though you will have to still pay the drivers costs back to Agra,,,,,,,,,,,

Hello. Prepaid taxis to Jaipur are available from Agra train station. Damage is around Rs. 2500-3500, depending on A/C - we had a really nice driver. He would have taken us to Fatephur Sikri if we hadn't been so awfully tired.

Regards,
Patrick
