Antsy in the Pink City!

So, my wife and I moved to Jaipur from the states and will be living here for at least a couple of years or so. Once the tourist attractions and shopping loose their luster, what might be some good physical and social outlets for us within the city? How do we tap in to them? Thanks!!

Thanks Paresh

We're really trying to get plugged in to weekly happenings of the city like music, art, etc... It's seems difficult to really get a pulse of the city. Often, we read about what HAS happened instead of hearing about it before hand. We're looking for different active clubs/groups that would enable us meet more folks as well. Anything that would help us acclimate a little more in calling this home would be great.

Hi, Sanjeev! Really appreciate your input. Things are looking up as we have recently attended a Christmas program at Birla Auditorium.

We will continue to try to build relationships and get plugged in to the city. We really want to go beyond the usual expat thing and become a part of the city, supporting what goes on here.

Merry Christmas!

Hey there. Thanks for the heads up on the magazine at Crossword. We do enjoy that little cafe upstairs as well from time to time. We live in Bani Park so it makes it more of a treat to go out there.

I've found a couple of gyms close to our home that seem to work well enough.

Not meaning to sound like we're only looking for things most ex pats would enjoy. We just want to find out about local stuff BEFORE it happens so we can take part in it. We subscribe to the Hindustan Times which is in English. We suspect that Hindi script papers may give more details about things going on.

Anyway, thanks again for the help. Are you currently living in Jaipur??

Did you get a chance to go to Chokhi Dhani yet.

I think, Not many people who belong to jaipur like the place too much (May be because its built artifically), but for us outsiders, its brilliant. And the food is awesome.
