Amber has more than just elephants!

I have just been to a really cool museum in Amber in Jaipur. Its a textile museum, but its not boring tho, its got traditional indian textiles and actually a guy block printing, ie you can actually see him printing on the cloth with wooden blocks. Its only Rs. 30 to get in. Its called the anokhi museum and it is down sum back streets, but you can just follow the arrows from the market. i think their website is sumthing like www.anokhimuseum.com so check it out. I was talking to one of the guys who works there n he was saying that it isnt in the rough guide n lonely planet yet so if you go i recon you should email t lonely planet n recomend it i am about too.

Anokhi Museum Re-Opens 16th July!

we do have a small selection of bedspreads. We are constantly updating our stoks in line with the various changing exhibitions so it changes from month to month. ie.you will not see the same things in there all the time. we only have a select selection of Anokhi stock mainly scarves, dopattas, jewellery, tops kurtas etc, as well as our museum stock. we try to keep it as exclusive as possible and only use the top end items from anokhi.

we are actually closed over the summer for exhibition change over! we will be changing all our galleries around and opening a new exhibition on Ajrakh and the prints of Kutchchh. We re-open on the 16th of july!
I hope that has been of help!
Dave
