3 1/2 Days in Jaipur

I'll in Jaipur for a convention.
Arrive: 7 pm on 7th
Depart: 3 pm on 10th
I'll be busy in the mornings from 10 am.
I'd like to take in the sights in the late afternoon and evenings.
I can visit temples or gardens early in the morning, even at dawn.
How should I plan my time in Jaipur?

There are a lot of places to see in jaipur. I was quite impressed with the City palace. Amber (pronounced Amer) is another beauty. Then there is Hawa Mahal and Jal Mahal. Birla Temple and lot of shopping. If you have the patience I have written a long trip account here.

Thanks, Mridula.
This is what I have planned.
Thursday: Nahargarh Fort and Galtaji
Friday: Pink City, Hawa Mahal and City Palace
Saturday: Jaigarh, Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, Sisodia Gardens
Sunday: Birla Temple, Albert Hall, Jantar Mantar

Any suggestions?

Not bad. But you might consider visiting City Palace and Jantar Mantar on the same day. They're within walking distance of one another.

Also, while Birla Mandir and Albert Hall are worthwhile, they're not nearly so interesting as the Monkey Temple.

'Pink City, Hawa Mahal and City Palace':

1) 'Pink City' is the name of all of Jaipur or, more accurately, of the city within its old walls. One might visit the Pink City for shopping -- or to see specific sites, like Hawa Mahal.

2) I can't imagine why anyone would want to spend more than 60-90 minutes at Hawal Mahal. You see (and photograph) the iconic building from the outside, then spend a short time looking at its backside and climbing up to the 'observation rooms.'

3) The City Palace is worth at least a half-day visit. A person is brain-dead if s/he is not awed by the beauty of is buildings or not impressed by its several exhibits.

I'm not too keen on Jantar Mantar, so I'll spend the extra time in the palace.
By pink city, I meant visiting the bazaars, etc
Albert Hall I only want to see from the outside, as also Hawa Mahal.
I want to spend more time in the forts and Galtaji, especially for the views and photo ops.

Indizen,

In my opinion:

1. You should visit Jantar Mantar with one of their official guides, it's excellent.

2. You may skip Albert Hall, but Hawa Mahal from inside is more interesting....

3. We visited all 3 forts, and it was a good experience.

4. Bapu Bazar (locals call it Daku Bazar) is a typical touristy market...

We plan to spend the major part of Saturday sight-seeing @ Jaigarh, quite early, then Amber from 9/10, and then Jal Mahal and Galtaji in the late afternoon.
Please recommend some places where we can have lunch and also some beer. In the vicinity of Amber Fort.
And some place for snacks in the evening.
It won't make sense to drive back to Jaipur for meals, or will it?
