hello every one

i have travelled to few places in india, i have always got very good information about the places from LONELY PLANET book on INDIA. i find it to be very precise and informative.

and in the book shops i also see books by ROUGH GUIDE and many other publishers.

i would like to ask other travellers, do they know of any book which will be useful or has any one used LONELY PLANET book and other book?? can you give me the comparison, becos i wish to buy a new edition of LONELY PLANET book, but would like to have other reader's opinions too....

Lat winter I travelled clockwise ALL around India for 14 weeks. I had the rough guide to India which was what I used in the North. When I got to the south I also had the LP for South India. Both are good but I did find that the majority of travellers in the south were using the LP. This gave me the edge in finding accom because I would use the RG and find rooms easier than others using the LP. Personal choice really - for what they cost I'm happy to use both. Nothing worse than being unable to find a room after a long journey.
