morning all,was wondering if someone can explain the visa game to me inasmuch as how long does it last,as a non-working f/national do i get a tourist one,how long can i stay on it,do i renew in country etc, any info gratefully recieved

hi,in short,i live in the uk,single,want to stay in india as long as i can,would prefer the kolkata area as i know people there,my intention is to find somewhere quiet(not in kolkata itself) and write a book

You can get a tourist visa for £30 from the High Commission in London, valid for six months.
