It's nice to be reminded of how glowing with health YG was before she ate that damned cake.

I'm one of those Doctor? Maybe if it isn't better in a week people, not at all into rushing off to hospitals.

But poor YG was bad... very bad...

Unfortunately she covered her face for the pic she mentions...

no...FORTUNATELY!

this is what happens when you eat food from the ELITE HOTEL ON PRINCESS ST. IN FORT COCHIN.....

as a matter of fact, a blogger I know ate thali from the same place just last week and also got food poisoning!

the place should be shut down before someone dies!

and I bet this is the first time anyone has posted a pic of them in an Indian hospital WITH an IV! HA! this is definitely the money shot!

Wow, that does not look like fun! Glad you are feeling better now. Are the two ladies doctors, nurses, friends, or random people who wanted their photo taken with a westerner?

Poor you - you look a ghost of your former self. We will keep that place well in mind if ever we go to Fort Cochin. Do hope you are back to normal now.

Wow! I think that photo officially wins the thread.

YogaGal, glad to hear you are back to fighting strength.

Makes my Hampi vanity shot look completely poseurish in comparison...

Nice photo, the opoponax and good to see your face! I've often wondered whether you were like your Avatar with tongue sticking out and great to see you're not! And wearing my favourite colours too!!

The two ladies in YG's hospital pic are nurses at the hospital.

Very kind and gentle ladies

IDNU / I do not understand

Very clever! That's right!

And thanks for the other 'expansions'. No wonder it did not occur to me. I do not have to think/talk/fight/ignore/avoid any inlaws to make a correct guess on that. No inlaws as yet so life is still cool. And I was wondering if Paulaner was the reason for that struggle to think of any plausible clues. .

Whoa! Elite hotel........they seem to have a perfect recipe for food poisoning. Stale stuff, overly used oil, artificial colors/flavors or rotten fish in Fish curry?

Ironically (of course if they do not have a lasting effect on the health) I 'enjoy' experiences like YG had. They make good stories after the travel and, good if taken positively, makes the trip more memorable.

yes, everyone was outstanding -- even tho I freaked when they said they were going to put the IV in my hand -- ouch! I was so dehydrated that the vein in my arm had collapsed, could not stick the needle in.

I agree! for me the good overshadows the bad, always. when I got back home I even got defensive when someone said "oh my god, you were in an INDIAN hospital! how awful was that?"

I'm fine now -- except for this cold I am fighting. since I've been back the winter here has been god awful, still below 0 degrees F! I should have stayed in Chennai until March!

I could do with losing several pounds! but not your way, YG!! Yes, nothing wrong with most Indian hospitals, may not have that clinically sterile look about them but they work very nicely for me too, whenever I've had to go.

Aishah, that's just a sampling of the additions to my wardrobe via Fabindia. Not to turn this into the To Dye Or Not To Dye thread, but I finally discovered the perfect way to dress that covers all the important bases: comfort, cultural sensitivity, and style.

It's the indigo - I love it! And as I sit here in our large living/sleeping area, there's a table cover by FabIndia under my computer, bedspread etc. in indigo blue, and several kurtas in my wardrobe in same colour as well!
Conor - Nice photo with bicycle - funny I thought your Avatar was you! Who is it by the way, showing my ignorance here but I'm interested?
