OK if I don't have the pics on a website how do I put them in here?
Attachment 7153 Is this the way...? OK This is us about to stuff down about the 4th Brun Maska in Yazdani bakery in Mumbai.. (yum! yum!) And this Attachment 7154 Is Oscar, watched over by someone extremely important, waiting for meal number 4 or 5 (we ate about 7 a day on average) in a great place in Amritsar - there were just a couple of tables behind a street stall - we had amazing aloo kulcha and a fabulous, mouth exploding dal that went with it! Nice pics, Kristin! The food sounds yummy too - I still remember the fish tikkas at IM Meet Up in Delhi!

Nice pix, ,btw! Ok...a trivia for IMers. Recognize the sketch(?) you see in Kristinm's first picture. The one right above Kristinm Junior's head. Jesus? I doubt. Not that I know the correct answer but just making you folks make some cogitated guesses.

If necessary, hit "go advanced." Now scroll down a little, you'll see "manage attachments" there. Here you can upload your attachments, indeed. Note they will only be accepted if they conform to certain size & resolution standards, which are in fact specified. They'll be rejected if they are too big, but this is easy to overlook. In any case, if they do get rejected (don't show up), you'll likely have to downsize. After the whole process, it pays to reload that page to see if everything went according to plan. Anyway if you do it right, presto: There is your thumbnail pic attachment. You can alternatively use the "insert image" function, however as these tend to turn out way too big for people on low-bandwidth connections, the mods will remove the image tags if they notice. So you might as well just drop the URL to them yourself, which is all that function allows for anyway. I.e., using the latter function those pics would have to be parked somewhere else on the web anyway, and you can just leave the URL to them, leaving it up to people themselves to open them or not.

Thanks for those tips Macha.
Let me try put a thumbnail here. I simply attach it and not play with links. EDIT: It came in a separate box. Now I 'Insert Image' in here and see how it looks like. [I.M.G]http://www.indiamike.com/india/attachment.php?attachmentid=71 55[/I.M.G] EDIT2: Even in IMG tags its appearing as a link and not as an image, thumbnail or otherwise. I have a feeling am not thinking on this but just trying haphazardly on a lazy but sunny and chilled Saturday. ![]() Last edited by amyl : Feb 16th, 2008 at 20:13. |

Mach, you can do this: [IMG]...[/IMG]
![]() using the [noparse]...[/noparse] tags around the code you want to demonstrate Kristinm, what you actually did is rather interesting, using [ATTACH] tag which I didn't know about before!

IMG tags minus the dots (in the above post.Edited it to make them visible) is what the raw text looked like in the editor box.
Thanks for the noparse tip, Nick. Did not know that. But dots for now |

Generally we discourage the IMG tag.
You'll find some people use it for travelogue posts, with a lot of big pictures hosted on another site, and they take ages and ages to load. |

o o... am not that handsome! That's my porter I took to Bhrigu lake, up those high mountains in the east of Manali. That was his celebration when we finally reached there.
I caused that mix up. That was my randomly picked picture from the Bhrigu album to test my thumbnailinng skills. Not me there. BTW Germany winter too is nice.Just back from Wasserkuppe. Really liked it.Guess am going to be there every weekend from now. Was quite low when we started . -6.5 But the whole day was awesome. Sunny, Sunny! |
