Scotsman in India

Hi all, been in Ahmedabad since last Nov (2007), and only just found the IM site!

Working at a local international school, married to a local for the last 6 years (although been in Taiwan for that time), 2 x cats and thought I'd 'introduce myself'.

If there are any other expats in Ahmedabad around who'd like to catch up - drop me a line!

Cheers,

Ian.

For a Scotsman how do you manage in Ahmedabad and Gujrat? Maybe the embassies to the rescue?

I do miss the haggis of course , but being married to a local (+ obligatory 'in-laws'/family around) sure does help (with dealing with the local environment!)

I haven't been to any embassies (wouldn't know where to begin!) I did have the joyous experience of sitting in the FRRO in Ahmedabad from 11:00am - 2:00 pm waiting to get my residence permit paper(s) fixed though.

This isn't my first time here - visited a few times (although only for a couple of weeks at a time), plus been down to Kerala, Goa, Cochin etc, Munnar (tea plantations are fab to see!) and we also went up(?) to Rajasthan for a couple of weeks.

This 'visit' is a bit of a longer stay - current employment visa lasts up to December, then who knows ?!
