Hi All,

My girlfriend and I are off to India soon, 5-6 months ... departing early September.

We have already got loads of advice, tips and info from the threads here - so thankyou all before I even begin... it's been really great to see so much experience, and such a pleasant community.

Time is getting on now, so it's likely that I'll be here often - so I thought it only polite to say hello first

Hey!

We're both "retired professionals" in our 30s, we've been lucky and think we can give it all up for good - we wanna see the world, and it's people. You could consider us "hippies" in our philosophy, but as a festival goer replied when asked "are you a hippy?" ... "Don't label me man!".

This really is just the beginning for us, and we plan to be flexible and leisurely, takin our time to enjoy places that suit us rather than travelling to a schedule - we fully expect our future plans to be decided on the road ... fate if you like.

Anyway, we're starting in India - I fancy spending some time in Nepal, and wasting time in Goa is exciting the hell out of us. Our plan is to fly into Delhi, I reckon Nepal would be the natural progression from there, before taking our time back west and down the coast to Goa. But as I said, we wanna be flexible and able to act on the spur of the moment so who knows, any ideas as to areas of interest would be eagerly welcomed
