New in New Delhi
Hi,
I have been in Delhi for a month, assessing the possibility of moving here for a couple of years. I am a female, british, textile designer looking for work, but currently helping a university friend set up his studio. As well as being on the lookout for employment(I recently graduated from an MA in Textile Design from Chelsea College of Art and Design, London) I am also on the hunt for new friends! Any advice on the following would be greatly appreciated: Apartment share in South Delhi Making friends Work Permit and finding work with a company Setting up a business as a freelance designer/consultant. Networking in textile industry After recovering from the initial shock to the system that Delhi gives, I have become increasingly enchanted with the city - it helps having indian friends to show me the ropes. With them I have enjoyed sampling Delhi's nightlife and culteral sights, although there is plenty more to see and do :-) Most recently I have been on 'holiday' to Kerala (beautiful) and previously to that I was on a RTW trip, taking in South America, New Zealand and OZ. I left London in Novemeber and haven't looked back since, although I do miss my cat who is living in Wales with my mum! Anyway, 'hi' to you all, and hope to hear from you soon Lucky bug |

Welcome to Delhi. Sorry can't answer you questions but I am sure members like indiaworker would have some things to say.

Delhi
Hi Lucky Bug,
I am from the UK and have been living and working in New Delhi for nearly 3 and a half years now. Have totally enjoyed the experience and hoping to stay for sometime to come. I'm afraid I can't really help out with the Textile Industry as not associated with that industry but could probably answer a few more questions and anything else that I can help with. Let me know how you are fixed and perhaps we could meet for a coffee/soda in Delhi. I'm not sure if I can send you a PM yet and would like to give you my mobile number but do not wish to publish it. Trying to think of a way to get in touch! Best wishes,
