Thumbs up morning everybody

i have been a great fan of this forum since long but never tried to register, as all my doubts being easily cleared just by browsing, but now i could not resist anymore

i am a south indian female in my thirties, working (Govt.of AP) married, one kid aged 8 years, recently transferred to New Delhi.

being a Hyderabadi, rather south indian all my life till recently, i have a great crush on the snowy mountains. i plan to stay at Delhi for atleast another 10 years & visit all the places in north india.

my husband, 24/7 journo, feels helpless whenever i propose a trek or some short tour. elections around the corner, he can hardly spare any time for us. so this summer my son & me are going to hit the roads.

anyway,i shall stop this looooooong intro.

i really would like to celebrate this day, as i have become a member of this fabulous india mike family.

long live india mike.

thanks steve & anil.

i have already been to rishikesh stayed at parmarthnikethan for 2 days, experienced devine ganga arati, and on our way back a quick visit to kempty falls, but could not stay at mussorie. the journey from mussorie to kempty itself is breathtaking. we south indians really miss these.

and steve, you can try the INS canteen, the food is much better & varied there.

Hi Rajee.Welcome to the forum.I only signed up today myself.Check out Naini Tal.It`s not that far from Delhi and the views of Nanda Deva are amazing.Mukteshwar is another good option but unless things have changed since I was there accomodation is a problem. There is a govt rest house but you have to make your reservation in advance.I ended up staying in The Indian Vetinary Research Institute for Rs20 a night.VERY basic but better than sleeping under in a tree.Well worth a visit for the views but not possible to get there and back in a day from Naini Tal.Good luck.
