Kia ora from NZ. First time to India in Dec! 5 and half weeks, North India
Hi all,
I'm Andre and I'm excited to be going to India in December where I will link up with my partner who has been in India since August (she's off to Nepal soon and we will rendezvous in New Delhi).
I have to say the thing I'm most nervous about is squat toilets as I have rotational deformities in my joints which make it really difficult for me to squat (haha probably oo much information for some so I do apologize =)
Anyhow, I expect India will be an experience! MAybe I'll see you there. Please help with my posts..I have one running already about my itinerary and could use some help figuring out if Varanasi first or last in my trip is the way to go (considering fog and distance to New Delhi, travel delays etc) and am just about to post about buying instruments. All the best India Mike community. Cheers, Andre.

Welcome to IndiaMike, Andre! You will be get a lot of valuable information here about your trip!
Depending on where you are, sometimes you will find western style toilets, but not everywhere. For example, on the trains both toilets are available. If you stay in a tourist city, it will be easy to find hotels with western toilets. I'm not sure that you will find western toilets if you travel off the beaten path, others here will know that better than me.
Have a wonderful time in India!
