Welcome from a relative newbie to IM.
You managed to cram loads in 3 1/2 weeks. It would be really interesting to hear how you got from A to B, your rating of the hotels, and which places and experiences you enjoyed the most. ![]() |

Hi Galaktika
I'm interested in your journey to Khajuraho and Orchha. Did you travel by bus/private jeep, how was the journey? I've read that the roads are not good. Can you remeber how long it took and cost? Would you recommend any of the accommodation that you stayed at in these places? thanks alot |

Thanks for the Welcome.
I know it was a very full on holiday and I needed a lot of time to rest back at home. But it was brilliant that we managed to visit so many interesting places in the short time. I will post my hotel reviews in the next days. From Khajuraho to Orchha, we took a public bus. The officer at the tourist info recommended to take the first bus in the morning (around 8, 8.30am) as this is the best connection. He was right. The journey was much better compared to the bus ride from Satna to Khajuraho. The bus was in good shape, it had glass in all windows, but of course not really deluxe despite its name. It was even only half full for half of the journey, but then it got packed and lots of furniture was put on top of the bus. But I think including this long stop the journey was not longer than 4 hours. And then it is another 20mins by ricksha from the crossing into Orchha. The bus ticket is 110 INR. |
