Italian Newbie says Hello!
Ciao to everyone!
I'm Elisa from Italy, 35, love traveling, love Nature and Music!
I've been reading IndiaMike for a while but registered today.
I'm coming to India for the first time in August and I'm so happy I found this forum and all its members: I'm reading and reading and reading and can't stop getting soo much useful info from everyone.
I hope one day soon I can give as much as I'm taking now : )
Have a great day

Thank you for your welcome!! We are in 7 and be there from 10th to 28th of august. We'll be travelling the Rajasthan. I really wanted to squeeze Ladakh in, but I don't think we have enough days to see everything in a nice way...
Welcome to Indiamike and a warm warm welcome to India Elisa,
Have a wonderful time in India and do write about your experiences. May you carry loads and loads of happy memories of India back to your country.

You may not have time enough for Ladakh, but you do have time to include one or two places in Gujarat, Delhi and around. Step well in Ahmedabad http://www.indiamike.com/photopost//...hp?photo=12678 (though you would see some in Rajasthan also), the temple (Somnath) which was destroyed and rebuilt six times http://www.indiamike.com/photopost//...hp?photo=15056, one of the four paramount places of hindu pilgrimage, Krishna's temple at Dwarka http://images.travelpod.com/users/lr...0.img_1639.jpg, the capital of his empire. thank you all for your warm welcome!! And thank you Aupmanyav for links to the photos, which are very nice! I took good note of your suggestions!

Kidding you have made a great decision.cover the rajasthan with delhi, agra.that should do it.

Hello Elisa
Welcome to IndiaMike. Waooo you are from Italy. One of my Fav place
Rajasthan is an amazing place to cover but it might be a bit hot. But it doesnt matter at all. you need atleast 2 weeks to travel across whole rajasthan.
And yes you can complete the Golden triangle ie: Delhi - Agra - Rajasthan.
It will be a memorable trip to india. Do let me know if you need some help in your itenary.

Why do all travelers say Caio these days? Are they all from Italy or is it the new IN thing to do? I thought it was like a chinese Chow but its spelled Caio?
Anyways great to see you are comeing here! If i where you i would squeeze in the Himalayas, after all its the biggest mountain in the world and cant go without seeing that! Rajastan is great too, its nice to see those old battle scared forts that look like something out of the Lord of the Rings trilogy! Even the names sound alike i thought, Mehrangar forts sounds and looks a lot like the Gondor fort!

It's actually Ciao and not Caio (which was a famous roman Emperor!!)
Ahahhah never thought about ciao as "IN". Italy is indeed a very nice country, as all the world is, too bad our politicians are too busy making money instead of helping people!
Anyways....
Thank you all for your warm welcomes and ideas!
It's almost time to leave, with my heart and mind I'm already in Rajasthan!! We decided to stay just a day in Delhi, catch a flight to Varanasi and stay there for a couple of days. Then, by train (seems a fabulous Marudhar express, class 3ac) we will go to Agra and start a proper tour of Rajasthan by car...actually van since we're in 7!
Unfortunately we decided to cut out Jaisalmer and Bikaner from the tour: it seemed way too hot and way too far and we want to taste India without a hurry!
As for Ladakh, since I love trekking and mountains (some great Alpinists come from Italy!!!!) I will give that place a whole vacation, probably next year!
