Introduction to myself

Hi, I've found this great looking site whilst looking for info. on volunteer work in India. Ideally I'd like to start off working in an ashram in the Rishikesh area - friends have said that it's a lovely calm area that's not too touristic. I'm going over in the middle of December by myself and I'd like to stay for around 3 months. Does anyone have any advice of where I could start? Thanks a million in advance Vicky.

Welcome to IM. Though Rishikesh has many visitors but there are good places uphill from. So Rishikesh would be a good choice but has your friend recommended any particular organization or place to volunteer?
