I'm too excited.
I'm too excited.
Hi everybody
Here in London it's 03.30 hours and I'm too excited to sleep. My beloved (Maisie Bee) and I, fly out from Heathrow tonight at 21.05 on Jet Airways to Mumbai and then on to Goa. Where we have rented a place right on the beach. I kid you not, if the coconut palms weren't in the way we would have an uninterupted view across the bay to Coco Beach, that Palace thing and the Prison. We are going for 4 months and thanks to IM our extended beach holiday is going to be an adventure in South India. Beach and Steven Ber and their cohorts have much to answer for.
Now I need some advice. Maisie Bee and I have been married a long long time. However in the last 18 years the longest we have spent together continuously is two weeks, when we went on holiday. How do I stop her wringing my neck?

I reckon it will be the perfect opportunity to get to know each other again properly, look on it as a second honeymoon
Have a safe journey and a fabulous visit to South India

Thank you.
Thank you all for your warm welcome.I didn't bother sleeping, just dozed listening to the cricket.
I've just been out and bought a new (bigger) suitcase to accommodate all Maisie Bee's absolutely, can't do without,"essential items".I'm off to pack now so hope to catch up with IM later in the week.

perhaps even an entire retinue of bejewelled elephants - why just stop at one? I'm liking the sound of the sedan chair and the retinue of bejewelled elephants!
If my husband doesn't actually explode with excitement before we get to Goa then it's sounding like a great way to travel.
I'd also like to add my thanks to all on here who have truly whetted our appetite for getting "out and about" during our stay.Whilst the prospect of 4 months lazing around in Goa was our initial driving force for the trip, that has now become something we will make room for between exploring.
No doubt we will be in touch

We're here!
Hi
Life is very good. Our flight to Mumbai went very smoothly, the check-in staff ignored the fact that we were well over our baggage allowance. The in flight service was very good and the food, well I ate it all!!!
In the past we have arrived in Goa on a charter flight, which is a nightmare so Mumbai was relatively sane. As we had a connecting flight we stayed airside until the transfer bus arrived at the domestic terminal,so avoided the chaos of the arrivals hall as well.
Since arriving I have been awoken each morning at 06.50 by someone tooting a horn as they move slowly up the road. Then again at 07.10 I must confess to you that I wished them a slow lingering death. Last night Maisie Bee reminded me of a post by Beach about trades people coming to the door I remember a very entertaining read that I didn’t believe a word of. This morning when I heard the incessant tooting I went out the front and met, to my delight the “bread man“. I purchased 4 rolls and a pint of fresh milk for 17 rupees. At 07.10 when I heard a slightly less shrill horn I, this time, met the “paper boy” who will now be delivering daily and doesn’t want paying for a month.
Must go now ………. I’m hoping I can hear the “egg man“.

Welcome! sounds exiciting. If you can take advice from an unmarried man (so obviously no expert) but when i travel with anyone after three days, no matter what, even if we are getting alone, break off and do something on your own.
