IM Intro!
Hi to all in IM land.
Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I have been an IM lurker for quite some time now. Went to India and Nepal in 2006 and began my lurking before that trip. Was based out of Delhi and Derha Dun for about 4 months and did a bit of traveling around the north. I was working on a photo documentary project on Buddhism. I am currently a staff photographer for a newspaper in the suburbs of Chicago, but I am in the process of interviewing for a job in Bangalore. Crossing my fingers and doing a little bit of a career dance. Kind of like a rain dance but this monsoon is for a plane ticket and some rupees. So far thats about it for me. I know that if this job does pan out I am going to be dropping in more often and asking some questions left and right. I have been looking for an opportunity like this for a few years and if it actually pans out I can't even imagine how quick a month will pass getting ready to go! Until the next post.... nice meeting you IM! |

Hmmm. larval stage. I am not really sure about how I feel about that, but heck, I'll take it as a compliment. I like being different!
Thanks for the warm welcome Ignite, Nick, Captain and Brown. I am sure you will be hearing more from me. Once the lurking ends and talking begins, its all over. You may have wished that I stayed quiet! |

Hi, photoredde! Welcome to IM !
I myself joined a few weeks ago. I came to India ( Chennai ) about 2 years ago from Europe (Chech Republic) as a tourist. Was staying with a friend of my friend for for few months. Then fell in love with one Indian guy and finally we got married a year ago. We went to USA for a 7 months ( my hubby is a software professional) . We got back to Chennai 3 weeks ago, so now I'm settling here. Still trying to figure out where to work. I have a customer service experince, IT helpdesk. Was also modelling a bit in Czech Republic and in India as well. Was interested in becoming a fitness trainer but here there are not so many chances to get a good job in this field . I actually alsways wanted to become a dancer, but life circumstances didn't really allow . So I thought it's cool you can do it , even if it's " a little bit". Cheers and good luck on your job. |

Congratulations on the marriage StellaG! Seems like the vacation turned into a honeymoon! I hope that you find work soon.... You could always find some girl dying to be a Bollywood Diva and use your fitness / dance skills to mold her and send her on her way! Or maybe open up a school and get a whole bunch of future Bollywood Divas going!
I am sure that you will find something! It seems like you have already had amazing luck on your Indian journey so far. Congrats again! |

Thank you!
Well, the thing is, I don't consider my dance/fitness skills to be great, I feel I still need to learn myself . Anyways, I probably will have to work in IT helpdesk or something like that for the start. Hope everyhting is working out with your plans and job. |
