I'll be in India in a month!
Hello out there ...
I'm planning my first trip to India and have been appreciating all that you've shared ... reading your posts has made me even more excited for my trip!
That being said, your thoughts and advice for my travels are welcome ...
In a month, my mom and I are headed to India for two weeks (I know, not an ideal time of year, nor nearly long enough) -- the "plan" is that we arrive in Delhi and depart from Bombay. We're thinking that we'll stay in Delhi for two days, head to Agra as a day trip, head to Jaipur for a day or two, head back to Delhi and then take off for Bangalore where we'll be visiting my mom's friend. The Bangalore part is completely taken care of. Other than that, things are up in the air at this point. Everyone I've spoken to recommends just playing things by ear however, now that the time is getting closer, my mom is getting a bit nervous and wants to have a more set plan.
Any suggestions for good places to stay in Delhi (moderate range)? Any things we shouldn't miss or shouldn't do for that matter?
I'm open to all thoughts and suggestions!
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to getting to know y'all!

Welcome saraks.. Here is some iunsolicited advise. If you have never been to India spend a little more time doing Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Depending on how susceptible you are to jetlag, you might be useless for the first few days.
Hello
For me Pushkar is a gentle place to head after arriving in Delhi, I will be there again at the end of this month, it is relatively quiet and Rajasthan is really lovely
Have a wonderful time, your mum and you both
Best Wishes

Welcome to IndiaMike, Tui!! Even though saraks may not benefit from your advice, there's a good chance that someone else will.
Happy that you're here and willing to help others out with your experience!

Hi everyone. In just over 2 weeks I will be in India!! I am very excited. Well...as excited as an old lady like me gets about things. I am pretty nervous about it as well.
I will be travelling with my sister and brother in law. We arrive in Delhi, and my brother in law is giving a talk at a conference at Karnal. Then it is on to Agra and the Taj Mahal of course. My sister and I want to take in any cultural events we can. Dancing, music etc. And I believe there is a sanctuary for rescued dancing bears in Agra and we would like to make a visit to that place if we can.
Cheers, Vee
