So, has to be asked. How many people come to India for work and say "hey, I have travelled. I have worked in Asian countries before..not a problem. Point and shoot baby, just get me on that plane"
But after only a short period of time go Colonel Kurtz?
Right now I am not sure I wont be the guy running down the street nude but for the toilet paper I have wrapped myself in.
Will have to wait and see....after only a short period of time small things are getting to me. Seems to be a great place to travel and do things/holiday. But work...I think trying to control what cant be controlled will render me with some interesting psychological scarring
But roll on the good times and hats off to those that contribute to this forum. Has been a lot of help to date.

Theres more but you will like it in the end!
Im sure you can endure a bit more before they rip you to pieces. Work, in general, I think is a pain. Being brought up slightly differently than most Indian families, I sometimes feel outta place. Im not too surprised you feel the annoyances.

I'd love to know the percentage of foreign workers who 'take' to India - although I'm sure it ain't too high. In our company/venture - apart from the lady who was already a serious Sai Baba devotee complete with pinup photos of the godman with accompanying burning candles and NRI's - I was the only gora who seemed to 'get' the whole experience and crave more after all was said and done.
Didn't happen overnight though and I was seriously considering pulling the ripcord for the first fortnight or so of being there.

We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. ~

You still have toilet paper? You're not trying hard enough!
Seriously, I know what you mean about trying to control what can't be controlled. Best advice I can offer is
1. Save your efforts for the stuff that really matters.
2. Work on convincing yourself that none of it really falls into the category of mattering anyway.
Oh, and if you manage to do that, please post here and say how you did it...
