Hiya
Hi All...
I'm a Brit expat in Thailand, and due to arrive Calcutta sometime in the next couple of weeks for around 3 weeks. At >50 I can still rough it within reason but can do with a few creature comforts, so 3 or 2-star ia about right. Will be travelling with my Thai girlfriend, never been there before, so any advice/guidance/tips (e.g. is the need to carry toilet paper reality or an urban myth?) are more than welcome. Tia, keda |

Toilet paper is a necessity as is tummy tablets. Keep your copy of Lonely Planet handy. That's the bible

You can buy toilet paper here. No need to fill up your baggage with the stuff.
Some places will have a spray in the toilet: much easier than a jug, and more hygenic than paper. Much to be recommended! Enjoy!
