Hi!

Hello! My name is Adam, and I've just come back from five weeks in Rajasthan as a volunteer. It was a great time, and I'm already planning to go back to India! I stumbled upon this forum while I was looking for india-realted stuff, and it really looks like one of the better travel forums relating to India, so I'm quite happy to have found it.

While in India I was really inspired to learn Hindi, and I think on my next trip I'm going to try and learn some Hindi, preferably at a school. Does anyone know any decent hindi-teaching schools in northern India that are open during the winter? Hmm, maybe i should start a separate thread for this.. Where to put it is a difficult question though, there is an amazing plethora of sub-forums around here!

Anyway, I hope to have a good time here!

Namaste and welcome Adam!

I too am learning hindi! But it's a slooow process learning from a book! There's one well known language school in northern India near Mussoorie in Uttarakhand. Here's the link:

Good luck and get back to India real soon :-)

Thanks for the welcome! I might actually take a look at landuor, since it seems like I might not be able get back to India until April-May next year. Ah well, more time to prepare I suppose!

Hi Adam, just whilst you are preparing and waiting to go, you could get a language course. We borrowed a 6 - CD course from our local library Pimsleurs (I think) Learn Hindi.
